Seal Dribbble

When W/S began the process of creating the new brand for Augusta University, we started with the seal.

Over the course of the past years with The Medical College of Georgia and Augusta State University becoming one, we needed to pay homage to the history of both institutions within a seal that would embody them as a singular University.

The torch represents Education, Research and Healing, the three tenets of the University. The oak leaves are from the historic Arsenal Oak, which was incorporated into the former mark for ASU. The pediment at the base of the seal is from the Old Medical College, as is the founding date of 1828. And, finally, the notches on the outer ring of the seal are taken from a sundial gifted to the Summerville Campus.

If you're not from here, maybe you don't get all that. But, anyone should be able to understand that this is the mark from a legit University with a ton of academic integrity. It's come a long way, and we're pumped to get to show it off here.
