Faith & Freedom, Part 1

"What tears at Americas fabric more than rejecting an entire faith in a land of religious freedom?" -Chris Cuomo, CNN, in response to Donald Trump's explanation of why we should ban all Muslims from entering the country.

Although it is logistically improbable to put into place & although I have faith that Trump will not take presidential office, it makes me very sad to even hear this kind of speak. Especially when I, as a Jewish American, am currently lighting celebratory candles at night to honor a story of Jewish persecution. It's all too familiar. Faith is just one of many personal freedoms Americans get to enjoy & while the events around the world totally suck, I hope we can focus on staying unified in love for our country, which is comprised of a melting pot of religions, ethnicities and cultures, rather than letting fear & anger initiate history to repeat itself.
