A.R. Frederiksen is an author who needed to upgrade from wordpress to her own bespoke website.

A Showcase of the Written Word

One of the difficulties of designing and developing for an author is that books are not a visual medium in the same way as video or painting.

We wanted to create a site that set a mood while also leaving room for flexibility as future books and stories are published. So, I leaned into heavy use of evocative photography and warm textures like canvas and leather to assert a theme while leaving space for the narrative building to Frederiksen herself.
