Gestalt "Closure"

Big updates to the Hopper app came yesterday: we released our most asked for feature, one-ways, and we couldn't be more excited!

Along with the ability to search for one-ways, we made some updates to the calendar, including higher contrast ratio for our colorblind users and updates to the layout and styling.

During the process, as we were working on updating the calendar, we ran into the Gestalt principle of "closure," or "when an object is incomplete or a space is not completely enclosed. If enough of the shape is indicated, people percieve the whole by filling in the missing infomation." Do you notice how the different shapes of the cells and spacing around them lead to different visual illusions in the negative space?
