After looking at a ton of map pop ups I was confused on why the close box is always on the upper right. Why would anyone want to click a marker then scroll to the upper right to close the dialog box. it seems unnecessary. I'm purposing that the marker itself is its own button. Click... open, click... close. It only seems natural to me. (clicking on another marker or the map would close the box as well)

I think the tendency of most people is to automatically look top right just because everyone always designs the close button in that location.
Your idea is much better! I like the Nightly Rates at the top too
