The Artwork
This portrait, crafted in early 2015, celebrates one of my favourite Jazz icons, Louis Armstrong (Satchmo). Beyond accuracy, my aim was to imbue the illustration with his vibrant personality and the heartfelt warmth of his music.
The inclusion of an abstract background pays homage to the artistic styles of his era, while the cityscape is strategically positioned to evoke the sound waves of his iconic trumpet melodies.
