Owen Chase Illustration

A drawing of Owen Chase, because I'm finally reading In the Heart of the Sea (slated to debut soon as a major motion picture which does not look v. good featuring Thor of Thor fame). The book is about Owen Chase and his whaling friends from the whaleship Essex. He was one of the queer old Quakers who inspired Melville to get writing Moby-Dick. Also, in the photograph I found of him, he looks as though he has just drunk a whole bottle of ink, though I suppose he could be forgiven for looking like that, because he was a damn cannibal.
