Paws Up - revised

Further exploration for the Paws Up logo, thanks to the really good suggestions on the previous shot. I started off doing the revisions directly in Illustrator and adjusted the 'w', 's' and so on fine, but the bigger changes to the 'U' and the 'p' were frustrating as it was all just looking awkward and forced. Instead, I printed off the rough/ugly edits that I had done so far and drew over them, chopped them up, pasted variations on top, etc. as it often feels like you can mess around with it more that way. I then went back to the computer and edited the vectors based on those mockups.

Attached is a copy of 4 possible versions that I'm reviewing with the client (details still need refining). The connected 'U-p' changes the overall aesthetics quite a bit (on second look, the 'U' is also a bit too heavy) but I'm pleasantly surprised that it works much better than I expected – mostly on v3 I think. Any thoughts on these updates?
