Ameshikō Design - logo and Hanafuda playing card design

✦ Personal project ✦ The logo gives the feel of Japanese and Chinese traditional stamps. The typography was a bit tricky. I didn't want to use Japanese characters, because simply it wasn't made for the Asian market. That's why I played around with Latin letters and made them look like a bit Asian.

Maybe you have already noticed the frog in the corner. The name "Ameshikō" is the name of a card formation (yaku) in Koi-Koi, which contains this card above.

I drew the entire Hanafuda deck with 48 cards. I printed them out as tiny cards, but also as 50x70 cm prints.

You can even play with this deck online here! I designed a simple interface for an online multiplayer Koi-Koi game.
