ESL - Cancelled, dead, kaput :(

Sorry to bombard you guys with more images from this work, but I just had to blow off some steam.

For those of you who have been following this saga, this guy here was part of an identity suite I designed for (what I was told was) a lacrosse training facility. For what it’s worth, I did get client approval to pursue a mascot-driven design before I ever started sketching.

However, sadly, this project was doomed from the start, it seems.

Poor client communication, misinformation, misdirection, a change in business focus (without being told), bad taste — you name it, everything went wrong. The client wasn’t feeling it.

Initially, he just wanted to kill the mascot, but after having me make revisions to the secondary typographic marks, he has now decided to pull the plug completely and… design it himself.

There are many, many particulars I’m omitting here in a public forum, but trust me, this is textbook clientsfromhell.com material. It’s equal parts infuriating and comical. Like it’s so unbelievable that I just have to laugh about it.

Anyway…

2x for more detail.
