After we moved to our new apartment last year, we've been wanting to update our messy office space. We used to have 2 non-matching desks which didn't match the house *at all*, so a few weeks ago we ordered a custom-sized countertop, slapped some feet under it, and bought a nice fuzzy rug.

Quite happy with the result, although this is probably as clean as this desk will ever look ;) The only thing that didn't work out as well was putting a 2 inch deep shelf on the wall, directly behind the iMacs… I was going to put led lights underneath that shelf (which was going to house some of our favourite design books), but the wall is fortified because of water pipes running through them.

p.s.: sorry for the grainy picture… it's taken with my iPhone ;)

Thanks! The thing weighs a ton (the countertop alone was about 45kg/90 pounds), but at least it's incredibly sturdy, hehe.

A ton! You can even seize it when earthquake.

Hahaha yeah :) Luckily we don't really have heavy earthquakes here, but if we did, my first action would be to dive underneath this desk :)
