Answer my question, how often have you gone to a place to eat delicious food and encountered an inconvenient menu interface in a cafe or restaurant, or were given a printed menu at all?
It's all over! Digitalisation in web design plays an important role in how businesses such as cafes deliver their services. Creating digital menus via QR codes has become one of the innovative approaches.
About The Menu
The management of the café was faced with the fact that they needed an electronic menu, which would be opened with the help of QR code, which was placed on the cafeteria tables.
In the course of the work, the following stages were completed:
Created a well-structured menu with clear headings, sections, and descriptions. Used simple and concise language.
I used colours that are associated with the cafe, but do not burden the user while viewing the menu: bright accent red, white and dark for the text. For the labels, light green and red.
Clearly outlined the variety of the menu with options for vegetarians and sugar-free dishes.
✅ As a result, the menu design is minimalistic, clean, pleasing to the eye and user-friendly.
Process
Market Research
Began by researching target audience, competitors, and industry trends. Understood what customers are looking for in a cafe menu.
Determine Brand Identity
Defined cafe's brand identity. Menu should reflect this identity.
Menu Layout
Created a clear and visually appealing menu layout. Used fonts and colors that align with brand. Grouped items logically into sections (e.g., breakfast, lunch, drinks).
Additional Information
Created labels for dishes that are suitable for vegetarians and for dishes that don't have sugar.
Creation of interactive prototype in Figma
Using Figma, an interactive menu prototype was created to show how the input fields work.
