Tattly for Grace Hopper Conference

I aimed for an accurate representation of Grace Hopper herself, but also wanted to maintain a traditional illustrative style in her portrait. In my favorite photograph of her, she’s beaming with confidence and wearing this beautiful Naval hat and uniform. From what I have read about her, she would wear her uniforms and medals often in meetings and lectures, even after retiring. She clearly felt a sense of pride in her accomplishments, so I wanted to be sure that my illustration captured her as the confident, self-assured woman she was.
