Introduction

💡 Project realised for Fundacja Warsztat Życia💡

Fundacja Warsztat Życia is a Polish charity dedicated to fighting social exclusion, building a better future, increasing public awareness, and promoting educational activities. The goal of this case study is to describe the steps and considerations involved in creating a website that reflects the foundation's mission and values while providing the best user experience possible.

Research and Discovery

The first step was dedicated to understanding the foundation's goals, target audience, and the key elements required for a successful web design.

I conducted stakeholder interviews to gain insight into the foundation's mission, values, and ambitions.

Then, analysed competitor websites and conducted a competitive analysis to identify industry best practises and potential differentiators.

Outcome

A foundation's website should serve as a portfolio, showcasing its authenticity and reliability. The target audience includes socially engaged individuals, supporters, and donors. The primary aim was to prioritise simple navigation, a clear architectural structure, and accessibility.

Information architecture

Based on that, I've created a simple and user-friendly structure for the website, ensuring easy navigation and quick access to important information.

Looking for the right visual structures

The Foundation's major goals are to fight social exclusion, build a brighter future, and raise public awareness. As a result, I wanted to reflect these features in my web design. At the same time, visual structures have to be straightforward and clean.

Final design

In accordance with the foundation's key visual, I created the main page and three subpages. Using inclusive imagery and narrative components makes it easier to emotionally connect with the audience and promotes a feeling of belonging and purpose.

Main obstacle

The foundation's budget constraints may have limited the implementation of certain advanced features or complex design decisions. The solution to this problem was to create basic navigation and animations, making the handoff process as simple as possible.

Conclusions

The resulting website not only reflects the foundation's commitment to social impact but also provides an optimal user experience for visitors seeking information, engagement, and support.
