Substance Designer Icon

I almost always sketch the outline of my icon designs in Procreate before shading in Affinity Designer or Sketch. However, sometimes the lighting on an object is so intricate that going straight to vector isn't the right answer. That's where digital painting comes in handy. Even if you are the Lord of the Blend Modes, casting gradients with ease, it's useful to explore lighting without the constraints of gradient fills.

I drew a mac icon for substance designer because I wanted to illustrate the idea of painting with light.
