Telegram Mac OS X Application

Working closely with my friends in a hackathon-like environment, I created a design for a macOS (formerly OS X) application for Telegram from scratch, which became official within a couple of months. It started as a side project in a fan-backed competition that we successfully won. I was responsible for product management and design, quality assurance, user experience research, icon creation, brainstorming, feature proposals, and more.

We were then invited by the Telegram team to continue developing this app. We explored various approaches, underwent several redesigns, and conducted experiments to achieve an intuitive, enjoyable, and useful messaging experience for our users. This desktop application is still the only one for Telegram that supports secret chats, video circle message recording, voice messages, rich attachments (including files of any type), contacts import, extensive settings and customizations, group chats, search, and much more.

All of these features were made by a group of teenagers doing their best. Today, it is a mature worldwide product used by millions of satisfied users.
