XR Keyboard V

Tested the keyboard prototypes I shared earlier in XR with touch interactions. Touch Input is not the best in preciseness at the right moment. As expected, the typing experience was slow and sometimes produced errors (maybe it could be fixed to some degree by some smart settings and spacial algorithms. My implementation was very straightforward).

The key elevation animation slowed down slightly the typing speed but, at the same time, added the additional visual signifier for the hover state and reduced the number of false positives. In this case, being slower and more precise is better than being faster and more inaccurate. It was worth it.

Sounds improved the typing experience significantly. It optimizes the visual feedback channel (multi-threading in UX). You can focus on key findings and don't need to check the preview to ensure you pressed the right key.
