So, we tried more than 10 different layouts for this particular screen. We tested each layout with 10 users as there is 40% bounce rate from this screen especially. This screen basically is to record or explain directions to your home in your own voice so that whenever you are not available/unable to pick up the call, visitors will reach to your address easily. To ease convenience, we allow users to hear sample (to know how to explain address with your own voice), text to speech, and landmark (from where you are guiding visitor).

The main problem we faced is to give user a basic understanding about the utility of this screen. As how recording the direction in your own voice could make explaining direction to your home more convenient, easy and effortless

Problems with the old version:-

1. Low user conversion rate.

2. The app looks dated and not very human.

3. Confusing and complex to use

4. Inconsistent and not harmonious

5. Not have emotional connection with the users

Solution:

We worked on the app primarily focused on making it easy and relevant. We did some initial user testing that allows us to diagnose the problems and then we crafted multiple drafts to come up with the best possible solution. We thrive on making the app more accessible, and human. I will share more updates soon. A case-study regarding the in-depth study is in WIP. Will share it soon.
