PROCESS

1. Ashley and I studied together in college, so I was already really familiar with her and her style when I started designing a logo for her. This is the only brand project where I skipped the discovery process and jumped straight into designing

2. The logo design process was mostly straightforward - my goal was to create something that matched her illustration style seamlessly. I presented a rounded option and sharper option and she chose the rounder version.

3. To add even more playfulness, an animated version of the logo was created

CHALLENGES

1. Make the logo match Ashley's illustrations but not compete

2. Should be fun but still super legible and usable

SOLUTIONS

1. Use black and white palette that will work with any palette or piece

2. Make the logo a self-contained badge that can stand out on any background

3. Reference Ashley's style of eyes in the counters of the "e"s
