Brush Casual Lettering Sketches

Embraced by lettering artists during the print advertising era of the 1930s in the US, Brush Casual quickly rose to prominence. Famous for its versatility, this style became a favourite among designers. However, what truly captivated me about Brush Casual were its distinctive unconnected letterforms, reminiscent of an interrupted brush script.

I designed these sketches earlier this year (2023) as part of my studies following Ken Barber's workshop on the subject.

The peculiarity of Brush Casual, combined with its array of unique features, ensures that it remains a valuable asset in my creative toolkit. Its unconventional nature guarantees a sharp, striking touch, perfectly suited for personified visual identities and captivating packaging projects.
