Red Tails

Created in honor of Black History Month 2022 for the Tuskegee Airmen Challenge and the W. E. B. Du Bois Challenge, this visualization was selected at Tableau's Viz of the Day on Feb. 18, 2022 and will be on display in the Viz Gallery at Tableau Conference 2023. Anthony Starks kindly created the W.E.B. Du Bois Visualization Style Guide. I chose colors from Du Bois's signature Pan African color palettes and used a treemap to visuaize the P-51 Fighter Groups' stats to pay homage to Du Bois's use of large blocks of color. Du Bois often used all caps for annotations and titles, so I capitalized when possible.
