Leading the design of Credit Karma's new Cash Back program, featuring in-app rewards and savings and utilizing two different design systems to bring it to life.
Working with the Money team at Credit Karma, we started with an existing feature that never launched and approached it with a whole new mindset. Weekly design critiques, crazy 8s exercises, and regular prototyping were some of the ways we worked together to bring the Cash Back Rewards program to launch.
Utilizing Credit Karma's design system, we quickly iterated on many different directions for user flows and screen designs, while also making suggestions to internal teams on ways to update global components for a more robust system.
And at the same time we were tasked with using our partner's design system to assist the engineering team in improving development time and reusing Dosh's components in the Credit Karma app.
Regular design reviews allowed us to dive into specific parts of the Cash Back Rewards user experience, including this Opt In and Opt Out flow.
In the end, we successfully launched Cash Back in the Credit Karma app with a gradual rollout to customers, who were excited about using their Spend accounts to passively earn rewards and search for relevant cash back that matched their spending habits.
