Goland Nav App Concept

The Goland Nav is a land navigation app concept for adventurers! This app gives the user current location with options to view distance from saved locations, elevation and a 10 digit MGRS grid to give rescue personnel down-to-the meter accuracy for quick response.

Within the center of the compass is the Goland Nav logo as a button. Clicking here allows the user to name a current location and add it to the app library. Once the user has added the new location, this option may be used as a backtrack to that point. For example, if a hiker ventures from Point A to Point B, he or she before returning may hit the Goland Nav icon within the compass to recall the saved point A for an easy trip back. Each saved location is color coordinated to allow the user to keep an eye on both the current location and the target location.

The current location is always red and the target location is another color that would be bright and lays nicely on the black background. If a saved location is not opened, then the interface would simply display the compass degrees, elevation and current location. The user may swipe left or right on the location to show either the MGRS or the GPS coordinates of the current location.

If a saved return location is selected, the interface would then show two different colored arrows, both location digits at the bottom and within the compass a distance to the selected location. swiping left or right would show feet vs. miles.

I think this would be a great app for beginning adventurers to hike confidently, knowing Goland Nav will help them find their way to and from their destination.
