The Reactive Square (1995)

I wish I had a better photo of this -- it's a book with die-cut tabs called "The Reactive Square." It was the first interactive book I published in Tokyo -- 2,000 copies were made. It came with a floppy disk, upon which there was a little piece of software that presented 10 black squares that all respond to sound. You can see them in action on Vimeo now as of April 11, 2015 at 4PM EDT (it's still rendering ...):
