Business cards - paint edges?

So, FINALLY ordering my business cards. :-) It will be a white backside with contact info. Paper thickness of total 700 gram. And thinking of painting the edges, maybe not in gold as in this mockup though. Anyone have any advices on painting the edges of business cards? Thanks.
