Friends Quest

I recently designed a new social feature on Duolingo called Friends Quest.

Every week, you and a friend randomly get paired up to complete a fun quest within 5 days. Your team’s quest progress is represented by a yellow (you) and purple (your partner) progress bar.


You can send friendly (or sassy) reminders to your partner along the way.


If you and your partner finish the quest in time, you unlock a special chest and earn an XP Boost + gems.
