DeVry University came to us with one request: to make their online application process easier for prospective students.
To achieve success, we knew it would require much more than just a redesign. We began with extensive research into identifying all of the potential paths students would have to navigate in order to reach completion. By establishing a matrix, we were able to significantly simplify the amount of questions needed as well as steps to reach the end.
With a 50% reduction in possible combinations, and just under 20 questions with only three steps, we conducted usability tests with both prospective and past DeVry students using our high-fidelity wireframe prototype to identify gaps and any potential friction in completion.
Following testing, we were able to simplify the process even further, and brought the design into color.
And after just a few short months of development, DeVry's online application experience is now live on http://devry.edu.
