Challenge

Users reported that when looking for multiple episode series and recently watched content wasn’t working well, leaving them frustrated. This ultimately resulted in sub-par experiences, and disengagement. I wanted to tackle this by redesigning the feature set from the ground-up so that users can create their necessary lists without undue friction, to drive better overall outcomes

Design

One of the major interference is not finding relevant content fast enough. Meaning that users were spending a lot of time on scrolling through irrelevant content that they won’t engage with.

Secondly, and most interesting discovery was that we don’t consume the same content every time we log in. Even though the site is about sports and sports related content, the parameters differ such as, time, day of week, location, device, etc.

How can ESPN+, recommend something that the user wants to see, before they even know they want to see it?
