Verard (safety application)

Choosing my last project in the final year of University was one of the most significant academic decisions in my life. I wanted to closely align the final project with my dissertation, addressing information design and making data and education more accessible for people. So I decided to create something that would be both visually appealing and useful at the same time.

The Verard application provides a tool for universities around the UK (and potentially anywhere in the world) to educate male students on improving safety for fellow female students by changing some of their behaviours and providing practical ways to offer support. Verard also heightens awareness of the public safety needs for female-presenting people and how unconsciously, an individual can make someone uncomfortable by their behaviour.

Besides the educational aspect of Verard, there will be many more services available for a range of users no matter how an individual may identify. My vision for Verard is to enable a greater sense of community by bringing students together, organising events, creating petitions, starting new communities and much more!

Let me know what you think about Verard! And if you think it'd help your experience at university.
