Matsu ya Tako Print

Hello there everyone,

I just wanted to share this Illustration, digital Painting, or however you wanna call it with you. I have not shared too much of such work here on dribbble in the past, so this might look like a new style, but basically I have done such things a lot in the past, but never in a digital way.

So this was more of an experiment and started as a sumi e, but while I was working on it, I felt that I wanted to develop it into a more illustrative direction.

I also made it available as a print on society6, so I thought it would be nice to show some details in this gif as well.

The idea behind the image itself is very obvious, but hard to explain at the same time. It's a mixture of different Japanese metaphors and imagery (Octopus, Pine, ....) that came into my mind while listening to 濤声, (Tôsei) by Dir En Grey.
