About the client

FeatureMap is a story mapping software that provides unlimited virtual space for its users to build and share beautiful story maps and collaborate on their projects in a secure environment.

FeatureMap brings you all relevant story mapping and communications features, such as: creating checklists, attaching documents, assigning tasks, leaving comments, exporting files, creating workspaces, inviting members, and empowering users so they can work on projects in the most efficient way.

Challenge

Tags are the newest feature of the FeatureMap app. They allow users to grant groups of permissions to every member, depending on their role in the team. Each permission of the tag can be automatically assigned (by tag) or changed manually.

These options make tag features much more flexible, customizable and easy to use. The challenge was to pack everything into one step, so the user can set the parent tag, name the tag, change the color, assign it to users, set the permission of the tag, and finally set access to the tag.

We solved this challenge by separating information into two columns: one for general information, one for setting up the permissions. Also, our focus was on a clean appearance, so we used consistent spacings and defined typography hierarchy for better readability and focus.
