'silly life' a risograph zine

I created my first ever zine together with Out of Blueprint.

"Our specialty is sustainable RISO and GOCCO printing – affordable, eco-friendly print with a unique aesthetic. We print posters, flyers, artwork, booklets, T-shirts and tote bags for our local community.

We reinvest the profits we make from our print service to support our core aim – to help young people. We do this through providing traineeships, residencies, exhibitions and educational projects, and supporting young people to pursue their own creative projects."

Silly life was inspired by small things in my/our lives. Things I've learned to appreciate more the past two years. Things such as cooking, reading or taking a bath. Silly but important. I've explored different illustration styles and effects, to see how they would pan out with RISO printing. A fantastic printing method that I cannot wait to use again.

Ten artists in Scotland were commissioned to create a 12 or 16 page zine, which I was one of. All of our works are going to be presented (and sold) at a print expo between 9 and 16th of July at Out of Blueprint in Edinburgh. Find out more about the event here!
