D-Day: Dave Shannon

Yesterday was the 78th anniversary of the the D-Day invasion in Normandy. To commemorate I wanted to share an illustration from a book I illustrated, D-Day: Untold stories of the Normandy Landings. This spread focused on an Australian pilot named Dave Shannon who flew for the RAF on D-day. It was Shannon's job to drop what was called "window" or shiny metal confetti which confused German radars and distracted them from allied troops landing elsewhere.
