Lifehouse Seven Album Artwork

So I really like the band Lifehouse, and they have a new album coming in the new year. They have a competition to design the album cover, this was my entry... I don't expect to win at all but I wanted to have a go at some digital art as it's something i've been interested in for a white.

I thought the hour glass was a good idea from the band. I wanted to couple that with the feeling I experienced from the new single "Flight". I felt that the song conveyed a huge sense of relief and freedom. I wanted to combine the two by creating the broken hour glass freeing the birds. The image almost symbolises freedom from time.
