Spec Work

This is spec work I did for an immigration lawyer in NYC while working my previous employer. To start I poked around the web to see what other, similar lawyers were doing with their websites and the trend was very clearly stars and stripes and all things 'Murica. All of it was just...so bad.

At first, I hesitated to go in that direction because I thought it was a bit heavy handed. Ultimately, I decided it was the right direction after really thinking about what it could be like to live in another country and move to the United States. It might seem like a hopeful place, full of opportunity and dreams; a place to start over and have a better life. All the stuff that we think is cheesy and tend to laugh at suddenly seemed to make sense from that perspective. So, I embraced the concept and tried to tap into all of that and connect it with becoming a citizen. But, I also tried to class it up by showing a bit of restraint.
