Cake Snake

The Oaxacan Cake Snake has a unique mating ritual where it will coil itself around wedding cakes to present itself to the male cake snake. The female will camoflague itself and sometimes strike as unsuspecting wedding guests. Roughly 1 in 10 Oaxacan brides are bitten on their wedding day. Those that survive the venomous ordeal are expected to have their wedding blessed.
