«Trams» App Icon — Icons
The author of this project was born in Russia, in St. Petersburg, famous for its trams. As of 2021, there are 40 tram routes in operation, 771 units of rolling stock are operated, which are serviced by seven tram fleets. St. Petersburg = trams, so I had to somehow note this fact. So the idea of the application "Trams" was born and, as a result, its icon.
The icon of the application “Trams" contains the logo of St. Petersburg transport (which was chosen by the residents of the city), a 3D model of the tram and the coat of arms. The color set is easily recognizable, so the application can be found in a fraction of a second among hundreds of others, and thanks to the rational saturation, you can not take your eyes off the icon for hours.
🚋 It's alive
The light perfectly emphasizes the shape of the tram. The visual style is on the verge of realism and minimalism. In my opinion, the more you admire this tram, the more it becomes your friend. There is something warm, native and "real" in it.
🙏 A big project has big worries
I endlessly like projects with a soul, with a story. When the work has a path with a lot of adventures, rethinking, changing concepts. In the end, there will be only the final result, but this story, this path traveled, will never remain flipped pages. For the creator, the path is hundreds of lessons learned, and for others it is a weighty argument to "believe" his creations, because the path is felt through every word written by the author, through every drawing, sketch, paragraph.
It all started with a simple desire to make a model of a tram. In the process of work, it became clear: the deadlines are constantly shifting, a clearer idea is needed.
It is a great honor for me to show you this idea in all its glory.
The icon looks very organic on the desktop. Intuitive, simple. What should the application for which this icon was created do? The question is good and correct, because it would be extremely unprofessional to create it at random.

The user can see which tram is the easiest to get from point A to point B.

Trams are displayed on the interactive map (at the technical level, it would be optimal to integrate, for example, Yandex.Maps).
🏛️ Tramway Gallery (interactive museum)
The opportunity not only to view photos and videos, but also to read the history, technical specifications and interesting facts about different models.

Separate for employees and passengers. Statistics, schedule, balance of travel tickets and news.

Hundreds of ideas, functions and opportunities can be thought up. The main thing for us is the general concept, understanding of the subject for which we are making an icon.
It turns out that the icon fully corresponds to the theme. An application in which the trams of St. Petersburg are in the first place. Someone will look at routes here, someone will monitor their work schedule, and someone will learn a lot of new things with the help of well-written articles.
