#goodmindsstandup

Last week I got to work at creating the identity for an anti-bullying campaign that's starting across Ontario's First Nations communities and schools.

The clients wanted a design that that showed a clear connection to native traditions and culture, but still tightly integrated with the online campaign, and would be something kids and teens on the reserves would actually want to wear on a tshirt. I spent a good chunk of time researching urban and skate brand trends, and another bigger chunk researching various First Nations art, teachings, and traditional visual themes, trying to figure out how to blend youthfulness and traditional imagery in a respectful, strong, simple way.

The logo incorporates the native concepts of "good-mindedness" and the medicine wheel, but still ties into the online contest and campaign they're doing with the hashtag.
