Oderus Urungus

This is Oderus of GWAR. I started this personal project in December 2013. At the time it was just a regular piece of fan art. Then Dave Brockie died in March 2014 and it turned into a tribute piece. It’s actually taken me some time to cope with his death, which is also why I left it for a while until I finished it in August 2014. R.I.P. and thanks for everything Dave.

I ended up having 24 subtools and around 60-70 million polygons for all the pieces on him. Almost all of the geometry was created in ZBrush as was my intention. Only bits modelled in Maya are the eyes. ZRemeshing and UV layouts were done in ZBrush, all texturing was done within ZBrush with a little help from Photoshop. Beard and hair was done with FiberMesh. Rendered in KeyShot.
