Occasionally the spirit moves and a pie is made. Perhaps I felt I wasn't going to make Young Guns this year, but days later when I knew for certain, I had plenty of delicious comfort food. In a spirit of contrition, I cut letters from a homemade crust for five hours, making a last minute decision to inline the strokes. I took gentle inspiration from Christine Kawasaki-Chan's Easy As, but the idea is my own.

Many thanks to @Claire Coullon and @Joseph Alessio for helping taste test this monster and proving there's at least one humble pie worth eating.
