The first thing you need to know is the master Percolate logo is designed by Berger & Föhr using a typeface called Futura Bold.
When we started thinking about branding Transition, our new technology conference, we got stuck into exploring fonts created in the same era and through this research stumbled across Futura Stencil.
After some initial studies it was clear that exploding Futura Stencil typesettings would work well for animation, and it was a cut of Futura — a perfect foundation for a Percolate sub brand.
