Degree Review Portal, But Alas Renamed

Very fun client asked for a playful design for a site called "Degree Review Portal" for people to review college degree programs. We worked on a playful outdoor theme, caps flying into the clouds, and rooted the footer with a desk & lectern outdoors. But, alas! The site was just renamed "Degree Grinder," so back to the drawing board, and thinking steampunk-esque, because he still really wants illustration. Do you any sites that do a great job with steampunk imagery that's also softer and illustrated?
