A few years ago, my girlfriend’s father was diagnosed with ALS, a terrible disease that still has no cure. For the past two years, her friends and family have raised money during the St. Louis Walk to Defeat ALS and I’ve designed their t-shirts. This year I wanted to do an iconic illustration of him as he was well known throughout his life – as a baseball coach. This was one of the outtakes (we decided to go more subtle and typographic), but after he passed last month I decided to finish it in tribute to a great man.
