The Quiet Centurion book cover

This is a cover for Book 1 in a historical fiction series set in first century Rome written by Michael Vetter. The cover design system I developed incorporates three main elements: color, statue, and pattern, which will change for each book. We went through dozens of concept for cover art that were both economical and appropriate for the theme before arriving at this approach.
