Franz Ferdinand

In honor of the 100 year anniversary of Franz Ferdinand’s assassination, I’m posting this spread from my book about historical blunders. The archduke’s driver made a wrong turn and brought the royal targets into the crosshairs of Gavrilo Princip. All this happened after a bomb narrowly avoided blowing Franz to smithereens earlier in the day. The archduke was on his way to visit the innocent bystanders injured in the explosive attempt on his life (but maybe he should’ve taken the hint and stayed in the hotel).
