Lindström

Lindström is a proof of concept of the international textile service company’s cloud Enterprise Resource Planning system. It monitors and optimizes the flow of resources among divisions of the company. It has a fast and user-friendly interface.

Lindström is an international textile service company involved 3.5K employees worldwide headquartered in Helsinki, Finland.
A proof of concept of the Enterprise Resource Planning system aims at checking the possibility of moving to a new ERP system and learning the approximate cost of such transition and further system support.
The current ERP system of the Lindström company was demonstrating low performance as the system was based on outdated technologies.
The new ERP system concept proved that it is possible to move from the current ERP system at the expense of backend and frontend reengineering and migration to another database.
The delivered ERP concept provides the same functions as the old system but solves the slow hulking interface due to the latest technologies. The system monitors the flows of material, financial and human resources within the company. It has separate user-friendly interfaces for logistics, accounting, and production and works both in a browser and on a desktop.
The suggested concept could solve the customer’s problems and made the system faster and more secure. But the transition needed substantial software updates, which was impossible at that moment.

INVOLVEMENT
Amoniac developed the working concept from scratch. The team built the platform based on Ruby on Rails on the back-end, Marionette.js on the front-end, and nw.js. We have also developed the migration script to transport data from Oracle to PostgreSQL to solve the different database versions on customer servers. Although the concept met the customer’s requirements, Amoniac decided to pause its evolving due to the impossibility of updating Windows systems in the company.
