Russ & Daughters

After 100 years, the Lower East Side institution (known for their lox + egg creams… and also as the place that Louis CK takes dates) opened up a new sit-down restaurant. I was one of a small handful of people that shaped the new place. Learned how neon signs are made, learned how to spec out architectural designs for contractors, learned how to use muriatic acid to etch text into mirrors, learned how to sign-paint (a little)… It was a steep physical-world learning curve, but the project basically turned out to be a love letter to NYC and I hope you like it: http://kellianderson.com/blog/2014/05/designing-for-the-new-russ-daughters/
