Driver Earnings History

How might we provide transparency and an overview of our drivers' income?

Cabify is known for being a ride-hailing app with more than 30 million passengers. To make the whole service possible, a crucial part of the system is the service provided by our autonomous drivers. Therefore, we continuously improve their needs with a specific app for drivers. Not having information about their income was one of the biggest transparency issues we identified in relation to connecting less with our service.

Problem

Once drivers complete their services, they don't have their updated revenue report per trip in their app until after a period of time sent via email without an overview of all revenue to know how their trips went. This posed a major trust and transparency issue, resulting in drivers hardly choosing Cabify as their primary service for their driving hours.

Solution

With the earnings view, we tried to support drivers so they could review and be supported about any earnings they made right after their last trip in an up-to-date way. In addition, they had an overview with a date salector to find specific earnings from previous trips. We iterated this functionality as we discovered various specific needs around the earnings view, such as a simplified breakdown, navigation between dates, visual reconstruction design, etc.

Impact

We had positive feedback in subsequent interviews with drivers, where they repeated how much they were looking forward to this functionality, as many of them need short-term, daily and weekly earnings. Plus a great quantitative result of 64 minutes more total connected driver time.
