To celebrate the arrival of the Communication Arts 2014 Illustration Annual, I decided to do a little portrait of the publication ... highlighting page 192, that features my Christmas Song-A-Thon poster series! It is always a truly inspiring honor to be included in the annual alongside so many of the illustrators that I admire.
This year, it is a unique honor, because as I turned to page 192, I realized I was sharing the spread with the legendary @Kyle T. Webster! The beauty of this connection is that I use several of Kyle's one of a king photoshop brushes (https://gumroad.com/kyletwebster) in a lot of my work! So I wanted to thank Kyle by doing a little portrait of his bicycle frog in this animated gif. and celebrate his winning entry too (check out http://www.kyletwebster.com/portfolio/frogfolio-calendar/ or the actual magazine to see his incredible illustration.)
Special congratulations to Pierre Mornet (http://www.marlenaagency.com/mornet/mornet_index.html) for his stunningly lovely illustration featured on the cover ... which I also did my own little interpretation of for this celebration.
CONGRATULATIONS to all the winning illustrators, your work continues to inspire me onward in my own creative journey. May it continue to inspire you to more award winning excellence!
