Automatically translating content for parents of deaf children

Together with NSDSK, the Dutch Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, we created a digital product to guide parents through raising their child in the first couple of years. There's a lot of new information for them to take in and it's challenging to put it into practice in everyday life.

The application presents all kinds of content to help the parents understand their child in this unique situation. There's much to tell about the different stages in life, so the content adapts to the age of the child. But NSDSK didn’t want to stop at just presenting this content. That's why we also build a system that translates the information in a subset of different languages, helping parents with different nationalities and languages. Besides Dutch and English, the articles are translated in 12 languages. For example: Arabic, Chinese, Polish, Portugese, Russian, Somali, Turkish and Tamil.
